There are many genres of Jazz and, in recent years, Smooth Jazz has been added to the mix. How do you feel about Smooth Jazz? Do you think it has a place at Jazz Radio 94.1fm? We would love to hear your thoughts.
It has been such an improvement that we don't have to listen to so much trad jazz anymore. That was a good decision by whoever.
I am 64 and a huge fan of Smooth Jazz and 94.1 couldn't include enough of it as far as I am concerned. It is fantastic music with a place of it's own. Even acid jazz could be played a little more.
And please cut down on Mr Buble. It seems that he is on every third track that is played on the station. Nice guy, but twice a day would be ample.
Thanks to all volunteers for bringing us such great music.
These days Im down in the Hunter Valley working for 2NM & Power FM. I left for my first job in commercial radio with 2NZ Inverell nearly 2 years ago now, time flies!
Looking back I prolly played Erroll a little too much ha! Maybe they'll play some more after seeing this?
One of the things I've learned is that music variety is very important lol?
i agree with the comment about 'M Bubble' too much of a good thing ,,, but more smooth jazz please (showing my age now 77yrs !!!!!!! i listen every day, as i live just south of the border
Wow! The station has improved so much lately by playing Smooth Jazz more frequently and reducing the old stuff. Congratulations guys! Now all you need is a bit of clever marketing. There are thousands and thousands out there who still don't know you. Every time I get a customer here they ask me what station is playing that good smooth music? Try to get a free full page ad in the Bulletin in exchange for the Bulletin getting free ads on the station. Would be good PR too. Once businesses hear the Bulletin advertising on the station they may want to advertise too.

Good stuff Harold,
ReplyDeleteVery important to have balance with Smooth, mainstream, vocals and not too many of those long solo's but some here and there for good measure :D

Hey Stranger! Where have you been? We're not getting enough Errol Garner since you left but still too much Ella. Cheers. Harold.
